Thinking Electronic to set up plant in Jiangxi

January 4, Digitimes - Taiwan-based protective component maker Thinking Electronic Industrial plans to spend US$5 million building a new plant in Jiangxi, China for capacity expansion. Further details will be mapped out in the first quarter of 2010, according to the company.

Thinking already has plants in Jiangsu and Hubei, and it is optimistic about China mainland market demand in the future. The company saw increased shipments of home appliance and handset related products in 2009 mainly driven by orders from China mainland.

Thinking has received protective component orders for high-current cloud computing and LED applications, with shipments slated for the first quarter of 2010, according to market sources.

The company's revenues will drop by about 10% in fourth-quarter 2009 and less than 5% in first-quarter 2010, the sources estimated.
