The computer-generated image of the Pengze Nuclear Power Plant

Mar 25, 2009 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- Pengze nuclear power plant in East China's Jiangxi province will kick off construction in this April, which will be the first nuclear power project launched this year.

The nuclear power project involves a total investment of 60 billion yuan, with China Power Investment Corporation as the controlling shareholder.

Its total installed capacity amounts to 8 million kilowatt, equivalent to the present total electric power productin in Jiangxi province.
