October 18, CCTV - The 27th Golden Rooster Awards for Chinese films have been unveiled in Nanchang, in Jiangxi province.

The award for best feature film has been divided between two movies. They're The Assembly, a story about a group of unsung heroes, by director Feng Xiaogang, and Forever Enthralled by Cheng Kaige, a film about the life and career of Mei Lanfang, the master of Peking Opera.

Feng Xiaogang was also named best director for The Assembly.

Feng Xiaogang said, "I have been in the trade for many years. It's my turn this time."
Wu Gang was awarded best actor in a leading role for his performance in "The Iron Man", while awards for best actress were shared by Zhou Xun and Jiang Wenli, for their roles in "The Equation of Love and Death" and "The Spring Comes".

Feng Xiaogang was also named best director for The Assembly.

For Jiang Wenli, it's a double delight.

Jiang Wenli said, "I have just come back from the Pusan Film Festival. My maiden film work won the award for the most popular film at that festival."

The award of best actor in a supporting role went to Wang Xueqi, for his accurate performance in "Forever Enthralled", and Yue Hong won best actress in a supporting role for her role in "A Tale of Two Donkeys".

Yue Hong said, "I have been working very hard during the past 24 years. This award is the best reward that life has given to me."

These awards are also the best reward for everyone in the film industry, who try their best to bring joy and happiness to the audience.

Best actress were shared by Zhou Xun and JiangWenli,for their roles in "TheEquation of Love andDeath" and "The Spring Comes".
