December 5, jxcn.cn ¨C Navel oranges grown in China have been marketed in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong Province speedily since November. Most of the navel oranges are from South Jiangxi, according to foodqs.com December 4, 2006.
"When national navel oranges are on the shelves, foreign oranges can't be sold at all," said a fruit vendor on Dongfeng Road in Guangzhou.

Jiangxi navel oranges are in demand in Guangzhou due to cheap but good.
South Jiangxi, covering 10-odd counties, is the biggest navel orange growing area in China. The yield of navel orange in this area reaches 250,000 tones a year, accounting for 40% of the whole country.
"South Jiangxi has best navel oranges, and Guangdong has international market networks, so we can complement the advantages with each other," said Liu Yong, vice general secretary of Ganzhou Municipality.

So far, hundreds of firms have come from Guangdong to South Jiangxi to purchase navel oranges and then sold to Southeast Asia, Hong Kong, Macao and Guangdong.
