Changhe-Suzuki Engine JV Starts Production in Jiangxi


NANCHANG, Sept 23 Asia Pulse - An engine factory invested by Changhe Suzuki Automotive Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Chinese mini-bus maker Changhe and Suzuki of Japan, has been put into production in Jiujiang City, east Chinas Jiangxi Province on September 20.

The Changhe Automotive Jiujiang Engine Factory mainly makes the K14B engine for small-displacement motor vehicles, with a designed annual output capacity of 150,000 units including 75,000 units a year during the first phase.

China now encourages the development of small-displacement motor vehicles for the purpose of saving energy and resources, and the products of the Jiujiang Engine Factory will thus enjoy a competitive edge.

The K14B model belongs to DOHC16V engine, with a displacement of 1,372cc. Its tail gas discharge meets Euro III standards.

Earlier, K14B engines have been imported and installed in the Plough brand min-buses made by Changhe Automotive which consume only 4 liters of gasoline per 100 km.
