Located in the Wolong Valley of Dazhang Mountain in Jiangxi's Wuyuan County, the 240-metre-high Qianzhang Falls is considered the highest waterfall in China
Qianzhang Waterfall has a drop of 240 metres, 43 meters higher than that of Dalongqiu Waterfall in Yandang Mountain, one of the four most famous waterfalls in China.
Dazhang Mountain is located in the north of Wuyuan County. The highest peak of the mountain reaches 1,630 metres in altitude. The mighty, precipitous, marvellous and picturesque valley in the mountain has a drop of 730 metres and a maximum gradient of more than 80 degrees. The valley is decorated with verdant forests, fantastic stones, and waterfalls. Qianzhang Waterfall pours from a nearly 1,000-metre-high cliff in the middle of the valley. The spectacular waterfall fully displays the magnificence and wonder of nature.
Wuyuan, on the boundary of three provinces in Jiangxi's northeastern corner, has a magnificent landscape dotted with strange caves, deep secluded rocks and numerous historic sites. It has been described by some overseas photographers as the "most beautiful of Chinese villages.'
Wuyuan County is home to some of the best-preserved ancient architecture in China. Each of the numerous ancient buildings has a distinctive shape and structure. They emerge from among the emerald green mountains, clear rivers, green trees and the crisscrossing paths between the fields.
