The ground breaking ceremony for the second stage project of Jiangxi Fengcheng Power Plant

June 16, Jiangxi Daily – The construction of the second stage project of Jiangxi Fengcheng Power Plant started on June 15.

The project, invested 5.2 billion yuan, includes two 660,000-kw generators, one in operation at the end of 2006, the other in June, 2007. By that time, with its first stage's four 300,000-kw generators, the installed capacity of Jiangxi Fengcheng Power Plant will reach 2.52 million kw, making Jiangxi Fengcheng Power Plant the greatest one in Central China.   

Since the year of 2000, Jiangxi's economy and society have developed rapidly, making consumption of electricity in the province rise 14 percent year by year. The consumption of electricity reached 30.238 billion kwh in 2004, up 15.22 percent in 2003, with summit load of 6.06 million kw.
