January 17, jxcn.cn – Jiangxi's economy in 2004 met the Tenth Five -Year Plan target one year ahead, according to Huang Zhiquan, governor of Jiangxi Province, when he made a speech at the Eighth Session of the Eleventh Jiangxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China on January 16, 2005.

In 2004, Jiangxi's GDP rose 13.2% to 350 billion yuan from previous year, exceeding 50 billion yuan from the target of the 10th Five -Year Plan to the year of 2005. Its value added of industries, value of shipment, profit - tax reached 60 billion yuan, 200 billion yuan and 20 billion yuan respectively. Increasing by 22.2% from previous year, the fiscal revenue amounts to 34.92 billion Yuan, exceeding 7.42 billion yuan from the target of the 10th Five – Year Plan. The grain output totaled 18 million tons, net income per rural resident reached 2,953 yuan, both jumped 20% from previous year. Virtually utilized foreign investment reached US$2.05 billion, which made Jiangxi to move from 21st position to 8th position in the nation in terms of utilizing foreign capital. The expressway mileage reached 1,500 km, 15 months ahead of the 10th Five – Year Plan.
