
December 1, jx.xinhuanet-A wounded Chinese sturgeon, endangered species and the top wildlife protected by Chinese Government, was discovered by fisherman Zhang Yongkuan in the morning, November 30, when he was fishing at Jiujiang sector of Yangtze River.

The sturgeon, 3.24 meters long, 1.42 meters round the chest and 260 kg in weight, had a wound about 34cm long, 19cm wide and apart 1.2 meters from its tail.

Suggested by the experts of Wuhan Aquatic Research Institute, surgeons of Jiangxi Hukou Hospital sterilized and sutured the sturgeon's wound, then put the sturgeon to the main course of Yangtze River at 17:45 pm the same day.
The sturgeon's wound was caused by hurt of boat propellers, according to experts.
