Fragments of Jingdezhen Porcelain Unearthed from Mausoleum of Genghis Khan

Oct 06, AP - Fragments of a China's highly admired Jingdezhen white porcelain bowl with dragon patterns unearthed from the foundation of a mausoleum of 13th century Mongolian warrior Genghis Khan are shown in this Aug. 2004 photo released by the Japan-Mongolia Joint Research Team.

Shinpei Kato, professor emeritus at Tokyo's Kokugakuin University, who led the excavation team to unearth the site of Genghis Khan's palace and the mausoleum, believes the long-sought grave of the medieval warrior is somewhere nearby the complex his team found on a grassy steppe, 250 kilometers (150 miles) east of the Mongolian capital of Ulan Bator.
