II. Industrial Strength and Characteristics 1. Abundant resources. There is abundant and high-quality cotton, ramie and silk. The highest production of cotton is 2.6 million DAN, now 1.6 million DAN. Jiangxi Ramie Textile Co., Ltd is a group company taking trade, industry and agriculture together. 4. Potential market. At present, the fibre consuming per capita in the nation is 6.6 kg, which is lower than the world average 8.7 kg. In 2005, the number will be over 7.4 kg while in Jiangxi the number is less than 5 kg.

Co.), 3 production lines of 2,000 tons new cement with dry process design by our county(Jiangxi Wannieqing Cenment Ltd. GUIDELINE OF COMMUNICATION
I. General Situation The highway and waterway communications in Jiangxi Province form the communication and transportation net, in which the capital city Nanchang and the municipalities are center hinges; state highway, provincial highway and Gan River water-route are main stems; the wide passages of Shangrao - Nanchang - Pingxiang between east and west and Jiujiang - Nanchang - Ganzhou between south and north are the cross-shaped communication frameworks.
By the end of 2002, there are a total of 60696 kilometers highway lines and the highway density is 36.4 kilometers per hundred square kilometers. In the total highway lines, there are 666 kilometers express highway lines, 314 kilometers class one highway lines, 6731 kilometers class two highway lines, 5628 kilometers class three highway lines and 22731 kilometers class four highway lines. 12.7% of the highway lines are class two and above, 59.4% of the highway lines are with classes. Jiangxi has a very big education scale with 9.3546 million students in those schools. There are 4123 graduates, 266,200 students in universities and colleges, 143,100 students in adult institutions, 152,000 students in secondary vocational schools, 15,800 students in adult vocational schools, 609,900 students in senior high schools and 116,900 students in senior secondary vocational schools. ¢ò. STRENGTH AND CHARACTERISTICS 1.Private education is making fast progress in Jiangxi Province, which has certain strength and characteristics around the country. There are 5333 private schools of different levels and different varieties in the province with 688,200 students, including 103,400 students in 53 universities and colleges; 168,100 students in 293 senior high schools; 290,400 children in 4691 kindergartens. 1. General situation: Jiangxi province is rich in natural resource and human resource. Th e mountains a re beautiful and lots of the famous gather in Jiangxi province. We have abundant tour resource, so tourizm industry has big potential. Jiangxi provincal government forges tourizm industry as a key industry in recent years and tourizm industry has developed rapidly. The visitors and sales revenue has increased by more t han 12%, 18%, higher than GDP growth rate in recent 3 years. There were 240,900 overseas visitors in 2002, increasing by 22.69% comparing w it h the previous year. There were 32.69 million domestic visitors ,increasing by 1 2.72% comparing with last year. The sales revenue was RMB19.106 billion, increasing by 18.38% comparing with the previous year. 2. Strengths: (1) Jiangxi province is rich in natural tour resource like natural mountain and water, heritage site, ecology tour resouce and human culture tour resource, such as 3 international tour resource: the porcelain capital-Jingdezheng, the world heritage site-Lushan, international important marsh-Poyang Lake. There are 6 national scenic spots like Lushan, Jinggangshan, Shanqingshan, Longhushan, Xiannu Lake, Shanbaishan, 7 national scenic spot of 4A class, 3 national history cities l ike Jingdezheng, Nanchang, Ganzhou, 26 key national relic protection units,14 na tional forest parks, 3 national natural protective region. Nanchang, Jingdezheng, Pingxiang, Ruijing is the resource of the revalutional culture. I. General Situation As a key industry in Jiangxi Province, automotive industry has formed scales and solid basis and is holds a very important position of the economy. So far the active employment in this industry is over 60,000 and almost 100 manufacturers working on automotives, civilian modified vehicles, motorcycles and components, among which 4 are automakers, 13 are civilian modified vehicle (including bus) producers, 3 are motorcycle makers. Original value of fixed assets is about Rmb 6 billion in this industry. Production capacity has formed: 250,000 units of automotives, 10,000 units of civilian modified vehicles (including buses) and 750,000 units of motorcycles. Major products are: Jiangling light trucks, Jiangling Transit light bus, Changhe mini bus, Shangrao bus, Anyuan bus and Hongdu motorcycle. They are all in a good position in the segment of China.
In 2002 total automotive output was 209,945 units. Industrial value added was Rmb 2.985 billion and sales revenue Rmb 11.289 billion, profit-before-tax Rmb 1.338 billion, including profit of Rmb 568 million.

1. General situation: The non-ferrous metal industry is the key industry of Jiangxi province. There are 173 enterprises which focus on non-ferrous metal, such as Jiangxi Cooper Group Company, Jiangxi Rare-earth and Tungsten Group Company. The capacity of 10 kinds of non-ferrous metal is 277,000 tons, including electrolytic copper: 234,000 tons, electrolytic aluminum: 16,700 tons, copper product: 71,000 tons, tungsten concentrate: 41,500 tons, columbite-tantalite concentrate:210 tons, rare-earth metal: 3,700 tons. The sales revenue is RMB 11.3 billion. 2. Strengths: (1) Rich mine resource: Jiangxi province is rich in non-ferrous resource with 40% of black tungsten in reserve in China, more than 50% of tungsten concentrate in reserve, 60% of columbite-tantalite ore in reserve. There are 2 open exploitation mine and 2 large underground mine, so copper is rich too in Jiangxi province. (2) Complete system of non-ferrous metal industry The complete system of non-ferrous metal industry is establish which comprises mine,smelting, processing, geology perambulating, engineer design and scientific institution. The sales revenue in 2002 is 9th in China. The system of products is established from mine product, smelting , processing to devloping the relevent poducts and the chain of products is extended to hi-tech product, high added value product. (3) Advanced technology Jiangxi Copper Group Company is on the top of China in term of open exploitation, copper milling and management, equal to the international advanced standard.Ganzhou Non-ferrous Metallurgical Institution is on the top of the world in term of the development of tungsten, columbite-tantalite, rare-earth and the technology of ionic rare-earth. Nanchang Non-ferrous Metallurgical designing institution enjoys high repution in term of non-ferrous designing and research. 1. General situation: The output value of electronic information industry in 2002 was RMB 66.55 billion, an increase of 20.94% comparing with the previous year. The rate of investment type, comsume type, electronic element type is 21.06:33.09:45.85. There are 5 catalog of electronic information products: electronic element, communication eq uipment, computer, household electronic appliance, electronic materials. The sales revenue in 2002 was RMB 892 million, an increasing of 102.5% comparing with the previous year. The main enterprises: Jiangxi Eletronic Group Company, which output value is RMB 2.51 billion and main products are as follow: communication receiver, programme control switchboard, computer, monitor, electronic element, Jiangxi Liangcuang Photoelectricity Share Ltd. Co., which is the first listed company focusing on photoelectricity products with the annul output value of RMB 1.518 billion and main products are as follow: LED photoelectricity element, photoelectricity cable, relay, parts of apparatus and information communication products, among which the capacity of photoelectricity element and relay is the first in the national electronic information industry, Jiangxi Qinghua Tellhow Science and Technology Share Ltd. Co. with the output value of RMB 340 million ,which main products are as follow: brainpower electric, mains for defense industry, Nanchang Changda Photoelectricity Science and Technology Company, which research on LED phase epitaxy is on the top of China relying on the centre of luminescence material and parts of apparatus attaching to the ministry of education. The capacity of CATV cable is on the top of China and most are exported. The capacity of special small and medium power generator achieves one third of the market share.
