SHANGHAI- Jiangxi Province held a symposium on cooperation between Jiangxi Province and foreign companies in Shanghai in April 17. Mr. Stefan Montan, vice-general manager of Ericsson (China) Co, LTD attended the symposium and made an ebullient speech as follows.

It is my honor to get Jiangxi Government' invitation to attend the Symposium on the co-operation between Jiangxi Province and foreign companies in Shanghai. Shanghai is the biggest city in China and the center of science, economy and trade of China. Jiangxi Province is beautiful place with great potential. This conference look like one Bridge connecting Jiangxi and Shanghai foreign companies and offer us one good chance to know each other and find possibility business opportunity in Jiangxi province, Thank you for your invitation again.

Ericsson China is the most innovative leading telecom and Datacom supplier with end to end solution from core and access network to applications, consulting and mobile devices, providing solutions and professional services exceeding customer's expectations as well as that of the industry. Thanks to Chinese government reform police, the telecommunication market in China has developed quite substantially and positively in the past decade. Ericsson enjoyed good market share in mobile communication market, we are ranking No 1 in GSM and GPRS market in China.

Localization in China is part of Ericsson global strategy. We have 3000 employees, 26 local offices and 10 joint venture around the China providing a full range of communications solutions and service. Total local purchasing in 2002 reached RMB 18 Billion, Ericsson's suppliers altogether have invested over RMB 15 Billion yuan (USD 1.8 Billion)in China. One JV in Nanjing becomes one of the supplier center not only for China, but also for worldwide market. Ericsson is aiming to continuously build intensive product supply in China for local market and also for the region and global markets. Ericsson also expand local R&D bases and forge China to be one of the Ericsson global R&D bases, we establish EricssOn Communication Software Research & Development Company LTD in Shanghai.

We are glad to see that the co-operation between Ericsson and Jiangxi telecom operators are running quite well. We provided Fixed Switching system, ADSL, Mini-link product to them under the contract. I believe that the co-operation will be continuously developed by both parties based on mutual understanding and supporting.
